This position is a critical role within the HR Genie organization, requiring a site-specific individual for the duration of the project.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Formal Education: A degree or national diploma in Civil Engineering is required.

Additionally, the candidate should have:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience after qualification, with a strong background in road design and/or construction monitoring.
  • Registration: The candidate should be registered as a Candidate Engineer, Candidate Technologist, or Candidate Technician with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA), and have experience with COTO (COLTO).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring Construction Works: Ensuring compliance with project specifications, COTO, and FIDIC.
  • Auditing Contractor Compliance: Verifying contractor participation goals and site safety measures.
  • Site Meetings and Minutes: Attending site and technical meetings, and preparing minutes.
  • Site Diary Maintenance: Maintaining a daily site diary.
  • Survey Data and Quality Control: Monitoring and assessing survey data, test results, and quality control matters.
  • Quantity Measurement and Payment Certificates: Measuring quantities and verifying contractor payment certificates.
  • Traffic Accommodation and Incidents: Reviewing, assessing, recording, and monitoring traffic accommodation measures and incidents.
  • Budgets and Cashflows: Preparing budgets and cashflows.
  • Works Authorizations: Preparing works authorizations.
  • Programme and Expenditure Control: Controlling programme and expenditure.
  • Site Instructions and Memorandums: Preparing site instructions and memorandums.
  • Contract Report: Assisting with the preparation and compilation of the contract report.
  • Community Meetings: Attending meetings with community structures, such as public liaison committees.
  • Other Responsibilities: Performing other reasonable requests as required.
