Overview

We are seeking a dedicated academic professional to join our faculty as a Senior Lecturer specializing in quantitative research methodologies and statistics.

Qualifications Required:

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Strong expertise in quantitative research methods and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with qualitative and mixed methods research approaches.
  • Proven experience in teaching research methodologies and statistics to postgraduate students across diverse skill levels.
  • Experience in online and blended learning environments, with a preference for familiarity with Canvas.
  • Track record of supervising master's and/or PhD candidates to successful completion.
  • Active engagement in teaching and/or research, demonstrated through publications and contributions to higher education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee faculty-wide initiatives focused on quantitative research methodologies and statistics tailored to postgraduate needs.
  • Assist postgraduate students in conceptualizing, designing, and executing research projects.
  • Guide students in analyzing and interpreting quantitative data using appropriate statistical software.
  • Provide consultation to students and their supervisors regarding research and statistical analysis.
  • Stay informed about contemporary developments in higher education and research methodologies.

Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and academic symposia.
  • Engage in relevant committees and working groups.
  • Establish networks with stakeholders, including supervisors and research degree coordinators.
  • Collaborate with School and Faculty Graduate Studies Committees.
  • Work alongside colleagues to foster strategic initiatives and collaborative projects.

Essential Competencies:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in various quantitative research methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of qualitative and mixed methods research.
  • Expertise in using and teaching statistical software such as SPSS and STATA; knowledge of SAS, R, or Python is a plus.
  • Proficient in data collection and management tools (e.g., Qualtrics).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse student and staff population.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Experience with online and digital teaching technologies.
  • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities.
  • Reliability and a conscientious approach to responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
  • Adaptability to optimize resources in a dynamic environment.
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively while managing multiple responsibilities.
  • High proficiency in MS Office and learning management systems.
