Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Design and Development: Develop, design, and implement mechanical systems and components in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Engineering Analysis: Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials selection.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Perform site inspections, quality assurance, and compliance checks to ensure that projects meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Technical Guidance and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and engineering teams.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Participate in risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in mechanical engineering, including new technologies, tools, and industry trends.
  • Proposal and Estimation: Assist in the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies for potential projects.
  • Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Registration: Professional registration as a Pr Eng (Professional Engineer) with the Engineering Council.
  • Experience: Minimum years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in mechanical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS) and project management tools, with strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and material science.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex engineering challenges, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Industry Standards and Regulations: Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including ASME, ISO, and other relevant codes.
  • Independence and Initiative: Ability to work independently and take initiative on complex tasks and projects.
