Job Description

The IIE's Vega School is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). We are seeking a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) to join our Cape Town Campus. This role involves lecturing on the Game Art 1A module, guiding students, and supporting their learning. The successful candidate will have a strong background in design or visual arts and experience in animation and character development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lecture on Game Art 1A, utilizing provided content and own expertise to create engaging lessons.
  • Evaluate student assignments and offer constructive criticism to aid in their growth.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment by conducting workshops and providing individualized guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student assessment results.

Requirements
  • BA Honours (HEQSF 8) in Design or Visual Arts with a focus on drawing, especially the human figure.
  • Alternatively, a suitable BA Honours level degree that includes drawing up to a third year level.
  • Proficiency in Animation and character development is compulsory.
  • Lecturing experience in the relevant field is recommended.
  • A portfolio showcasing artwork and illustrations is necessary.
