Job Description

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Financial Analysis Specialist to join AJ Personnel. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly EXCO packs for business units by analyzing financial data and presenting insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of journals and balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for preparing monthly consolidated current and deferred tax calculations as per IAS 12, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial forecasts, including cash flow projections, to inform business decisions.
  • Analyze actual results versus forecast and provide actionable feedback to improve future performance.
  • Identify slow-moving inventory and bad debt provisions, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Complete monthly VAT calculation, resolve vat queries, upload supporting documents, and submit returns.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance, providing insights to business executives to inform decision-making.
  • Evaluate the economic value of assets versus carrying value, applying IAS 16 principles to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support business executives in analyzing their monthly management accounts, highlighting significant variances to budget and detecting abnormal items.
  • Review overhead cost allocations to COGS, admin, and selling expenses, ensuring accurate financial representation.
  • Collaborate with business units to improve costing models, including recovery of costs, with a long-term goal of implementing an ABC costing model.
  • Develop annual budgets for business units, including P&L, balance sheet, and ROIC, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support the CFO with various ad-hoc projects, providing expert financial analysis and guidance.
  • Contribute to the implementation of SAP, leveraging your knowledge of financial systems and processes.
Requirements
  • BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis and accounting.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, with advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Familiarity with Syspro system is advantageous.
