About the Role:

Pepkor Properties is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects from inception to conclusion.

This includes planning, execution, and managing people, resources, and project scope.

The role involves developing new premises, maintaining sites, and liaising with landlords and clients for premises managed by Pepkor Properties.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Compiling costing and capex estimates for presentations to the property board;
  • Gathering quotations from contractors and suppliers and evaluating them against approved budgets;
  • Appointing contractors and suppliers;
  • Managing communication flow of information such as store plans and signage plans between clients and developers/landlords;
  • Ensuring projects are completed within stipulated time frames, budgets, and specifications;
  • Monitoring and coordinating progress and ensuring payment of contractors;
  • Facilitating maintenance of properties by landlords;
  • Measuring premises according to SAPOA requirements and converting this to CAD drawings;
  • Submitting plans to relevant authorities and obtaining occupational certificates.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with mathematics;
  • BSc in Construction Management or a related diploma will be advantageous;
  • Formal project management qualification will be advantageous;
  • Experience in a construction environment will be advantageous;
  • Formal qualification or experience in AutoCAD, CAD, or Revit software is required;
  • Bilingual (English and Afrikaans) and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace;
  • Willingness to travel extensively;
  • Well-organized individual with good analytical skills, numeracy skills, diplomacy, and communication skills;
  • Ability to function independently but also work well within a team;
  • Practical experience (preferably both technical and commercial experience) will be advantageous;
  • Experience in property management/development will be advantageous;
  • Understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts is essential.
