Your primary responsibility will be to assist clients by managing their payrolls in accordance with legal regulations while cultivating and sustaining strong client relationships to promote repeat business. Each day will present unique challenges as you handle varied requests. Typical Daily Responsibilities:

  • Managing payroll processes, which includes payroll preparation, interpreting and applying statutory changes, and maintaining the payroll system.
  • Ensuring compliance by contributing to the enhancement of internal systems and processes, implementing payroll best practices, and mitigating potential risks for clients.
  • Enhancing the financial performance of the company through brand development, which involves creating a positive customer experience through efficient service delivery.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships by treating clients with respect and professionalism.

Qualifications for Success:

Education:

  • A diploma or degree in commerce, human resources, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of payroll experience or experience as an HRIS practitioner with payroll systems (Sage300 and/or Premier required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of South African payroll tax legislation.
  • Basic knowledge of South African labor legislation.

Attributes:

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience in a payroll outsourcing environment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax legislation in other African countries is a plus.
