Ca Financial Appointments is seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Umhlanga, KZN. The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Manager and be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company.

About the Role:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, identifying and managing financial risks, and implementing effective accounting procedures. They will also liaise with directors, prepare consolidated annual budgets, and submit accurate financial reports to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with IFRS
  2. Identify and manage financial risks, implement and monitor accounting procedures
  3. Liaise with directors and prepare consolidated annual budget and half-year review
  4. Submit accurate financial reports to stakeholders
  5. Prepare efficient and effective audit packs
  6. Resolve audit findings prior to commencement of next year's audit
  7. Maintain and manage the organization's core finances in a transparent manner
  8. Implement enhancing and improved accounting and reporting systems
  9. Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and address queries raised
  10. Manage full accounting functions, including income statement, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and assets for all subsidiaries
  11. Manage full payroll function
  12. Manage compliance with relevant SARS registrations and requirements
  13. Manage compliance with relevant CIPC registrations and filing requirements
  14. Manage cash flows to meet organizational needs
  15. Liaise and maintain existing relationship with organization's bankers
  16. Review all Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments
  17. Ensure all documents are appropriately filed and labelled for easy retrieval

Requirements:

  1. Qualification: B in Financial Accounting or Financial Management, completed articles with an accredited audit firm
  2. A Membership with either SAICA, ACCA, or CIMA advantageous
  3. Minimum of 5 years work experience in core finance environment, with a minimum of 3 years management experience
  4. Advanced MS Excel, Graphs, Pivots, and V-Lookups
  5. Advanced capability to do Financial Modelling for desired results and/or analysis or reporting
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence (EQ)
  7. Strong planning and organisation skills, attention to detail
  8. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  9. Ability to use analysis, logic, innovation, experience, skill, and knowledge to solve problems
  10. Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing
  11. Ability to use discretion and deal with sensitive information confidentially and professionally
