About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to join our team at FirstRand Bank Limited.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test software applications using Java programming language.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Implement system enhancements and resolve queries to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Code, compile, test, and implement applications in compliance with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Support development environments and ensure coding standards are met.
  • Produce technical specifications and architecture that align with agreed standards.
  • Minimise system downtime through proactive identification of potential issues.
  • Monitor systems post-change and perform performance analysis to ensure system availability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in programming (Java).
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages as appropriate for the specific requirements of the department.
  • System design experience is advantageous.
