Job Description

Farm Manager SA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agriculture Manager - Irrigation Specialist to oversee all aspects of the agriculture department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Crop Production: Oversee the production of crops, including maize, wheat, soya, and sunflower, to ensure optimal yields and quality.
  • Feed Production: Manage the production of feed for livestock, including game and cattle, to ensure adequate nutrition and health.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the maintenance of equipment, including pumps and irrigation systems, to prevent downtime and optimize efficiency.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and manage a team of staff to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets to ensure the financial performance of the department.
  • Cattle Management: Oversee the management of cattle, including health, nutrition, and breeding programs.
Requirements:
  • Education: Agricultural Diploma or Degree advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pivot irrigation farming.
  • Skills: Computer literacy, maintenance experience with pumps and irrigation systems, ability to work well within a team and unsupervised, strong communication skills, and a valid driver's license.
