Job Title: External Sales Representative

The Recruitment Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced External Sales Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for growing and developing our business insurance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for new clients through networking, cold calling, and door-to-door canvassing for new business.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk evaluations for clients and provide solutions aligned to their needs.
  • Draft, track, and measure personal business plans to achieve targets.
  • Provide ongoing service and support to individual client bases, including amendments, renewals, and claims.
  • Retain existing business through renewal discussions and FAIS compliance.
  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships with clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with commercial insurance market changes and developments.
  • Achieve and exceed targets consistently.
  • Provide feedback to line management as requested.
  • Attend weekly and ad-hoc team meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including underwriting, actuarial, claims, and surveying teams.
  • Adhere to quality standards and measures in place.

Requirements:

  • Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate.
  • 60 FAIS credits or Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on DOFA).
  • Preference given to applicants with Financial Services Board Regulatory Exams (RE1) completed for those with prior financial services experience.
  • Must have a valid code B driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • 2 years of external sales experience.
