The Job Desk Recruitment is seeking an experienced Retail Properties Strategist to join their team. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the retail property landscape and a proven track record in retail property development or management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify new retail sites and expansion opportunities in South Africa and neighboring countries, analyzing market trends and feasibility studies.
  2. Negotiate prime retail locations in malls, new developments, or towns on behalf of the company, leveraging strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to assess and finalize new store proposals, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  4. Conduct thorough market profiling and merchandise mix recommendations to optimize retail performance.
  5. Negotiate and manage lease agreements, ensuring favorable terms and compliance, and oversee timely renewal of existing leases.
  6. Manage landlord-related queries, including lease and account discrepancies, and address and resolve store maintenance issues promptly.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. A relevant tertiary qualification (Financial, Legal, Property Management, etc.) is preferred but not essential.
  2. Minimum 10 years of experience in retail property development or retail property management, with a strong understanding of lease agreements and property principles.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  4. High attention to detail with a strategic and solution-driven mindset, proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant property management tools.
