- Evaluate Finite Element simulations results to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Prepare Solid Models of components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, adhering to business file structure guidelines, number protocol, and design standards.
- Collaborate with the design team to prepare concept layouts, incorporating inputs and feedback from team members and the team leader.
- Develop detail layouts and manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies, ensuring correct drawing standards are applied.
- Ensure the technical integrity of allocated designs, including system-level integration.
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to follow the development process and procedures, ensuring reviews and procedures are completed to minimize design risk.
- Participate in building and testing prototypes, facilitating closed-loop feedback during the design process.
- Communicate effectively with manufacturing and subcontractors to ensure smooth information flow during prototyping and production.
- Oversee projects to ensure timely completion, meeting mass, budget targets set by the Design Team Leader.
- Represent the company at design reviews, attending internal and external meetings with clients, showcasing expertise and making informed technical decisions.
- Provide production support, capturing red-line drawings during the prototype phase.
- Assist ILS with repair, maintenance, and logistics information requirements.
- Support the procurement department during supplier evaluation and the procurement cycle.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to project specifications.
- (Post-) Graduate degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Previous experience in the military vehicle design environment is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, systems, and components.
- Proficient in electrical design software or relevant Onshape and SW packages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This role offers a competitive salary of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, opportunities for professional growth, and a dynamic work environment.
