Accountant Job Description

RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established plastic manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly Operations Reports to track financial performance
  • Assist with budget preparation and management of various budgets
  • Manage financial transactions, including management fees, dividends, and tax calculations
  • Compile month-end packs for financial reporting
  • Analyze and process sundry factory and distribution costs
  • Update waste, R/kg, tonnage, and gainshare schedules monthly
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Manage the Profit Estimate File and update Distribution and African Closure Income statements
  • Capitalize and depreciate assets, and manage capital expenditures
  • Prepare and process journals, and maintain general accounting records
  • Perform general housekeeping and filing tasks
Requirements
  • BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent qualification
  • 2-3 years' relevant work experience in accounting
  • Highly computer literate, with expertise in Excel
  • SAP experience or knowledge is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative
  • Flexible working hours, with overtime when required
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Confident, independent, and a fast learner
  • Strong relationship building skills and assertive thinking
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and self-motivated
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and effectively
