Job Summary

The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for the development and on-time delivery of all technical aspects of a Product (or part thereof), in accordance with the Product plan. This role will work in partnership with Product Managers and be responsible for maintaining the product backlog, iteration planning, and communicating stakeholder requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering
    • Ensure the team writes correct code, following Nintex standards, guidance, and training materials.
    • Know the core concepts in the Service Reliability strategy and manage team services to SLOs and SLIs.
    • Work closely with Product Management and User Experience Designers to define required product features and behavior in detail.
    • Monitor new code and designs to identify where test coverage needs adjustment.
    • Gather and assess all relevant input to make quality decisions.
    • Champion quality, making sure it is a priority in the team and across projects.
    • Follow security best practices and lead teams in threat modeling.
  • Delivery
    • Understand and run the team according to agile principles and use data to track status and improve team performance.
    • Maintain unobstructed vision of risk factors in the workload, including the amount of change introduced.
    • Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize user stories in line with the product roadmap.
    • Oversee the development of all product features in the domain in a manner that meets delivery commitments.
    • Play a role in the Incident Management process, contributing technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team Management
    • Coach, support, and enable team members in achieving personal growth and career objectives.
    • Lead by example, promoting and embodying Nintex's values.
    • Conduct effective team workforce planning and forecasting.
    • Create training plans collaboratively with team members to produce required skill sets.
    • Lead hiring cycles and contribute to designing the organizational hiring process.
Requirements
  • Strong background in software engineering (8+ years).
  • Experience leading and managing a team (3+ years).
  • Experience with the delivery of AI products would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with ML algorithms, NLP, big data analytics would also be highly advantageous.
