Procurement Role

We are looking for a skilled Procurement Manager to join our team in East Rand. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for procuring goods and services according to the scope of work and material description.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Market Research: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers.
  2. Negotiation: Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
  3. Purchase Order Management: Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  4. Liaison with Operational Teams: Liaise with operational and quality control personnel to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  1. National Diploma or higher certificate in Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain Management (NQF4 or 5), Diploma, or Degree. CIPS qualification advantageous.
  2. 3 or more years of exposure to procurement as a Buyer.
  3. Exposure to relevant Heavy Manufacturing, Mining, or Engineering knowledge.
  4. SAP proficiency is highly important and non-negotiable.
  5. Zero defects of components received.
  6. Supplier relationship management and identification of savings opportunities.

Essential Skills

- Procurement or Strategic Sourcing Principles
- Experience in the Heavy Manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- Good negotiating skills
- Communication skills
- Reporting skills

Desirable Attributes

- Analytical skills
- Understanding of machining shop processes is an advantage.
