Job Title: Construction Project Manager

At Staff Solutions Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of a project from planning to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Operations Manager in project planning to ensure budget and timeline adherence.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Analyze project plans to meet design, safety, and budget requirements.
  • Suggest operational improvements to boost efficiency.
  • Regularly inspect sites to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Set up and manage teams on-site.
  • Supervise and instruct both teams and subcontractors.
  • Oversee material and employee management at each site.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Approve daily work permits.
  • Attend site meetings.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks with employees.
  • Measure work for client invoicing and quotations.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Site Management: Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Labour Relations: Handle staff grievances, manage interactions with Trade Unions, and assist in issuing warnings to staff.
  • Employee Management: Calculate and update daily staff timesheets, maintain accurate attendance records, and provide training and support to junior or struggling fitters or laggers.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental: Manage teams and subcontractors to ensure adherence to Health and Safety procedures, ensure full compliance with Health and Safety regulations, and conduct monthly audits and updates on the site safety file.
  • Quality: Establish and promote best practices for quality assurance, conduct Quality Control Plans (QCPs) on projects, and document each phase with photos to ensure both functional and aesthetically pleasing outcomes.
  • Customer Relations: Meet with clients to understand their requirements, build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external customers, and liaise directly with clients throughout the project.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and orderly site throughout each shift, ensure that sites and projects are kept in good working condition during the entire duration, and keep working spaces clean and well-maintained throughout all projects.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Construction Management, Building Studies, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Mandatory Skills: Health and Safety training, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong industrial relations skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years as a Contracts Manager or Supervisor, particularly in the construction industry, experience managing large teams, and experience in Health and Safety management.
  • Advantageous Skills: Scaffolding experience and experience working at heights.
  • Required Knowledge: Health and Safety Regulations, interpretation of engineering plans and drawings, contract conditions, risk management, and cost control.
