We are seeking a seasoned SHER Manager to lead our client's safety, health, environmental, and risk management programs in the Pietermaritzburg area. As a key member of their team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive policies and procedures that ensure regulatory compliance and industry best practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a SHER Manager or in a similar role.
  • Professional certification in safety management is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain safety, health, environmental, and risk management policies and procedures aligned with local, provincial, and national regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Implement measures to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents and environmental spills.
  • Develop emergency response plans and prepare regulatory reports.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, strategic thinking, and strong communication abilities. They should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and possess a high level of professionalism.

Estimated salary: R 800,000 - R 1,200,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience). Benefits include medical aid, pension fund, and annual performance bonuses.
