About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the Bus Technical Department as a Senior Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the department's key performance areas, focusing on innovation and standardization of the City Public Transport Fleet.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Define and align immediate, short-term, and medium-term objectives/plans for the Bus Technical Services Department.
  2. Manage outcomes related to personnel utilization, productivity, and performance within the department.
  3. Prepare capital/operating estimates and control expenditure against approved budget allocations.
  4. Manage the process of interpreting, understanding, and aligning the bus fleet design to improve performance and utilization efficiencies.
  5. Direct the process of standardizing the bus fleet.
  6. Control performance obligations provided for in various contracts related to technical requirements (mechanical, bodywork, and general dimensions).

Requirements

  • Degree (NQF Level 7) in Logistics Management or Fleet Management or Transport Management or a related equivalent qualification.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 8 years of relevant experience, including 2 years at management level.
  • Computer literacy.
