Our client, a prominent organization in Gqeberha, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the financial growth and success of the organization.

Job Overview:

The Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate recording and compliance with financial regulations and donor requirements. This role involves collaborating closely with the management team to provide key financial reports, budgetary oversight, and strategic recommendations to support the organization's objectives and ensure long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to stakeholders, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting & Bookkeeping: Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets, forecasting revenue and expenses to achieve organizational goals.
  • Grant Management: Oversee grant management, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and reporting deadlines.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Manage cash flow and treasury functions, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing risk.
  • Financial Advice & Support: Provide financial guidance and support to the management team, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in financial management or accounting, preferably within a non-profit or donor-funded organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc.) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with non-profit financial reporting, budgeting, and grant management.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards for non-profits.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
