We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechatronics Engineer to support our client, a leading Automotive Component Manufacturer. This role plays a crucial part in providing operational support to existing manufacturing facilities and driving various related projects. The ideal candidate will blend mechanical, electrical, computer, and software expertise to work with advanced technologies, including robotics, automated guided systems, and computer-integrated manufacturing equipment.
The role requires a strong understanding of Mechatronics principles and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing assigned projects, maintaining and controlling Mechatronics spares, and performing timely repairs and maintenance on Mechatronics equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage assigned projects according to divisional needs.
- Maintain and control Mechatronics spares for the plant.
- Perform timely repairs and maintenance on Mechatronics equipment.
- Backup all software and PLC programs related to plant operations.
- Respond quickly to equipment faults and maintain machine uptime.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues effectively.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and attend to breakdowns.
- Support Mechatronics needs across all departments.
- Develop and implement new Mechatronics facilities.
- Wire PLC panels and other electronic machinery.
- Program PLCs and other software systems.
- Upgrade existing facilities and introduce new electronic advancements.
- Complete documentation promptly and manage network infrastructure.
- Oversee production IT systems, servers, and database administration.
- Maintain cleanliness and work within budget limits.
- Ensure project timelines are met and mentor junior staff.
- Step in for the Mechatronics Manager when needed.
- Lead complex problem-solving and resource planning for projects.
Requirements:
- BTech or BSc in Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, or related computer science/programming field.
- 5-7 years of experience in PLC and computer programming, with at least 3 years in software/electronic development.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience in computer programming (Delphi, LabView, C#, ASP.NET preferred).
- Expertise in PLC programming (RS Logix 500/5000, Festo FST, Festo Codesys).
- Familiarity with robot programming (Fanuc, Yaskawa, Denso).
- Experience with machine automation, integration, and controls.
- Proficiency in Windows Server management and IT infrastructure.
- Knowledge of database development and administration (MySQL experience is a plus).
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electronic systems.
- Strong project management abilities.
- Previous experience in the automotive industry preferred.
