Inventory Management Specialist

Milkor is seeking a highly skilled and organized Inventory Management Specialist to join our team. As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of our storeroom or warehouse, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of stock levels, including receiving, storing, and issuing goods.
- Stock Control: Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Goods Receipt and Inspection: Receive incoming goods, check them against the internal manufacturing orders, and inspect for damages or discrepancies.
- Storage and Organisation: Ensure that all received goods are correctly labelled and stored in the appropriate location.
- Warehouse Operations: Organise the storeroom or warehouse to optimise space utilisation and ensure easy access to items.
- Inventory Maintenance: Ensure that goods are stored in a manner that preserves their quality and safety.
- Inventory Issuance: Prepare and issue raw materials, tools, components, and equipment to the relevant departments or personnel as needed.
- Packaging and Dispatch: Pack and prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring they are correctly labelled and documented.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics to arrange timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Inventory Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inventory transactions, including receipts, issues, returns, and transfers.
- Inventory Analysis: Generate and manage reports on stock levels, inventory movements, and any discrepancies.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained, stored, and accounted for.
- Health and Safety: Perform regular checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the storeroom or warehouse.
- Inventory Management Processes: Ensure that all storage practices comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Process Improvement: Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, production, assembly, maintenance, CNC, surface treatment, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
- Training and Development: Assist other departments if needed.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, regarding inventory needs and issues.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving inventory management processes and implement changes to increase efficiency.
- Industry Best Practices: Stay updated on best practices in warehouse management and inventory control.
- Team Supervision: Train and supervise junior staff or assistants in inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Procedures and Policies: Ensure that all team members are aware of and follow the correct procedures.
- Matric: A matric certificate is required.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.
- Inventory Management Systems: An understanding of inventory management systems is essential.
- Microsoft Packages: Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, and email, is beneficial.
