The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning of plant and equipment to minimize production downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct thorough safety inspections on production equipment and machinery to identify potential hazards.


  • Recommend equipment replacements, spare parts, or repairs based on inspection findings.


  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules to prevent equipment failure and extend lifespan.


  • Monitor and optimize production line outputs to improve efficiency and productivity.


  • Attend to mechanical and electrical faults, document root cause analysis, and implement countermeasures to prevent recurrence.


  • Operate in accordance with safe work procedures and maintain a clean, neat, and organized workplace.




Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess:




  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures for mechanical and electrical infrastructure.


  • Technical aptitude for fault-finding and repairing mechanical and electrical breakdowns.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
