Job Description

This role focuses on the recovery of claims from third-party sources, ensuring timely and efficient processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potential recovery matters, referring them to Santam's Legal department or recovery attorneys, and liaising with these parties throughout the recovery process.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to make informed business decisions and handle a large workload. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as this role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including brokers and service providers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential third-party recovery matters
  • Refer identified matters to Santam's Legal department or recovery attorneys
  • Liaise with Santam Legal or recovery attorneys on the recovery process
  • Daily monitoring of open claims
  • General decision-making with regards to the recovery process

Qualification and Experience:

  • Maturicy level qualification
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in personal lines and short-term insurance claims handling
  • Law degree (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of legal and OSTI processes
  • Minimum 5 years in a management position with a proven track record of successful business management
