At Jobs2day, we are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in routine activities such as payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and lead the accounting department staff, including accountants and clerks, to achieve tight deadlines.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP principles and company procedures.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status to provide recommendations for improvements.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns directly or through coordination with external tax accountants.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely completion.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- Professional certification (SAIPA, CIMA, CA(SA) etc.)
- Proven experience as an accounting supervisor or senior accountant.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
- Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Office environment with standard office hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required during busy periods such as end-of-year reporting.
- Competitive salary which is negotiable commensurate with experience.
