Main Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Reconciliation: Process and reconcile 150-200 transactions per month, guaranteeing accuracy and completeness of expenses captured via the XeroMe app.
  • Crew Expense Management: Collaborate with yacht crew to track expenses, follow up on outstanding items, and address queries related to financial transactions.
  • Charter Expense Review: Analyze and review charter-specific expenses, comparing actual costs to budgets, identifying variances, and providing detailed reports to the crew and management.
  • Financial Reporting & Budgeting: Prepare and distribute charter expense vs. budget reports, offering insights and responding to crew feedback on questioned items.
  • P&L Analysis: Conduct critical reviews of vessel profit & loss (P&L) statements, identifying unusual or high expenses and providing financial explanations for management and ownership.
  • Month-End Financial Reporting: Compile and present the month-end financial report pack, including income statement per charter and per month, sales reports, balance sheets, working cash projection reports, and financial insights.
Requirements Experience:
  • 3-4 years of practical bookkeeping experience.
  • Preparing P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Proficiency in Xero.
  • XeroMe app advantageous.
  • National Diploma in Financial Accounting / Certified Senior Bookkeeper / National Certificate Senior Bookkeeper.
  • South Africa based and able to work remotely supporting USA-based clients.
  • Independent Contractor.
  • Own laptop and stable internet connection.
  • Working hours 11H00 to 20H00 SAST.
