Job Title: Senior Mechatronics Engineer - KZN

Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join our team in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. As a key member of our client's manufacturing facility, you will play a crucial role in providing operational support and driving various projects related to mechatronics, robotics, and computer-integrated manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage mechatronics projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop and implement mechatronics solutions for manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechatronics systems.
  • Design and implement PLC and software programming for mechatronics systems.
  • Conduct timely repairs and maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Ensure prompt response to faults and maintain machine uptime through proactive maintenance.
  • Develop and build new mechatronics facilities and execute scheduled maintenance.
  • Support all departments with mechatronics needs and facilitate wiring of PLC panels and electronic machinery.
  • Conduct PLC and software programming and assist in upgrading facilities and implementing advancements.
  • Manage network infrastructure, oversee production IT systems and servers, and handle database administration and development.
  • Ensure project timelines are met, operate within budget constraints, and maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Coach and mentor junior mechatronics staff and monitor and address performance gaps.
  • Stand in for the Mechatronics Manager as needed and lead complex problem-solving efforts.
Requirements:
  • BTech or BSc Degree in Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent in computer science/programming.
  • 5-7 years' experience in PLC and computer programming, including 3 years in software/electronic development.
  • Automotive industry experience an added advantage.
  • Advanced IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Computer programming experience (Delphi advantageous, LabVIEW, C#, ASP.NET).
  • PLC programming knowledge (RS Logix 500, RS Logix 5000, Festo FST, Festo Codesys).
  • Robot programming experience (Fanuc, Yaskawa, Denso).
  • Experience in machine automation, integration, and controls.
  • Windows Server management and IT infrastructure experience.
  • Database development and administration experience (MySQL experience advantageous).
  • Mechanical and basic electronic knowledge.
  • Project management skills.
