Main Purpose:
The Lead Social Worker will oversee and lead all social worker activity, co-ordinating and negotiating processes to ensure compliance with current legislation and statutory regulation. This includes conducting comprehensive evaluations, risk assessments, and needs assessments to identify relevant resources and strategies for client rehabilitation and progress.
Key Accountabilities:
- To conduct thorough and objective evaluations of client status, environment, and functional abilities, including risk assessment of clients, staff, and the wider community.
- Manage, monitor, and review an assigned caseload, ascertaining socio-economic circumstances of clients and maintaining accurate and timely records detailing each patient's rehabilitation/progress.
- To take the lead on POVA or Child Protection issues, taking appropriate action with statutory services and applying working knowledge of statutory and company policies and procedures.
- Support colleagues and relatives in understanding and interpreting changes in legislation and statutory regulations, collaborating with agencies and official organisations as needed.
- Co-ordinate health, rehabilitation, social service, medico-legal, and voluntary agencies to provide individually tailored programmes for clients, establishing necessary levels of care and liaising with external agencies to obtain funding and services.
- Responsible for supervising and practice teaching students and trainees assigned to the unit.
