Job Description:

The Blood Donation Specialist will be responsible for collecting quality safe blood and blood products according to specific targets set per blood drive (fixed or mobile).

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage cost per unit for whole blood and specialised collections within agreed blood drive/donor centre target.
  • Maintain and validate equipment to ensure timely repairs.
  • Report increases/decreases in consumable usage and discrepancies in stock deliveries.
  • Manage stakeholder relations at the blood drive and/or donor centre.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in General Nursing Sciences.
  • Code B or EB Manual driver's license.
  • 2 years Registered Professional Nursing experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Relevant SANBS policies and Procedures.
  • Standards of Practice for Blood transfusion in SA.
