Job Summary

To adopt a holistic view of students, promoting general progress and well-being. Create a positive learning environment, motivating students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and present interesting and exciting Physical Science & Mathematics lessons.
  • Establish a teaching environment that fosters engaged learning.
  • Behave professionally with regard to punctuality, behavior, standards of work, and students' homework.
  • Evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice.
  • Be open to continuous development through personal and school-wide professional development.
  • Teach extra lessons when required, on two afternoons per week.
  • Produce resources of high standard for students.
  • Respond to parent inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Show loyalty to all aspects of Reddam House.
  • Attend special occasions at the discretion of the Head of School.
  • Set and mark exams and student evaluations.
  • Write report comments.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as determined by the School Head/line manager.

Requirements

  • Able to set clear expectations and stretching goals.
  • Adaptable teaching style incorporating feedback.
  • Depth of understanding in the relevant subject area.
  • Ability to judge learning effectiveness.
  • Excellent preparation and planning.
  • Assessment of student outcomes and feedback to enhance performance.
  • Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working with students in a school setting.
  • Confidence with ICT use in teaching.
  • College-level experience.
  • University degree in the appropriate subject.
  • Certified Teaching Status.
  • Right to work in the country.

Estimated Salary Range: R1,200,000 - R1,800,000 per annum
