Planet10 is seeking a highly skilled Data Architect Lead to spearhead the development of our data architecture solutions.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Job Description:

We are looking for a seasoned professional to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge data architecture solutions that drive business growth and ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.

  • Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to address complex business challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define metadata layers, technical strategy, and optimal integration within our existing IT landscape.
  • Translate technical designs into actionable solutions, review proposed solutions, and optimize them when necessary.
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve supporting activities, including automation, release management, scheduling, security models, and impact assessments.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end solution delivery.
Project Leadership:

The ideal candidate will lead data projects from conception to deployment, ensuring successful project delivery through coordination with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives.
  • Mentor and guide data specialists to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Mentorship and Collaboration:

Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment where complex technical concepts can be effectively communicated to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data architecture and the broader data and AI landscape to drive innovation and improvement.
Research and Development:

Oversee the deployment and monitoring of data solutions in production environments, ensuring continuous improvement for existing data pipelines, data models, reports, and infrastructure.

  • Implement best practices for data, model management, and version control.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading data projects and managing teams.
  • Extensive experience with big data platforms (cloud and on-premise), data modeling, data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
Technical Skills:

You should have expertise in:

  • Programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
  • Data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar.
  • Data modeling tools.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
