Job Description:

We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team, responsible for sourcing and maintaining suppliers for various portfolios within a category. This role involves developing a growth strategy, sourcing and prioritizing suppliers, delivering key performance indicators, managing supplier relationships, and developing promotional programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, and improve trading terms.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Growth Strategy: Create a comprehensive growth strategy to drive departmental growth in sales, brands, suppliers, and new product listings.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including sales, margin, listings availability, stock cover, and supplier relationships.

Requirements:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree (Business Science/B.Com/Bsc) is required, with a commercial postgraduate qualification advantageous.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of retail experience, with 5+ years as a Buyer/Senior Buyer.
  • Skills: Strong analytical ability, negotiation skills, entrepreneurial mindset, solutions-oriented attitude, and excellent communication skills.
