Job Description:

The role of Electrical Engineer Management involves overseeing engineering activities in a mining section/plant. This position requires ensuring compliance with legal requirements, managing electrical systems, and optimizing processes.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and Coordinate Electrical Engineering Activities: Ensure the effective management of all electrical engineering activities to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  2. Ensure Compliance with Legal Requirements: Implement statutory and legal requirements by managing appointments, strategies, budgets, and change initiatives.
  3. Optimize Electrical Systems and Processes: Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to optimize electrical systems and processes.
  4. Effective Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including contractors, employees, and external partners.
  5. Contractor Management: Manage and oversee contractors working on electrical projects to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Skill and Qualification Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7): A degree in Electrical Engineering is essential for this role, as it demonstrates a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Postgraduate Qualification (MBA, MBL, MDP, ARM Management, or Equivalent): A postgraduate qualification can be beneficial in demonstrating leadership and management skills.
  • Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) in Electrical Engineering: A GCC in Electrical Engineering is required for this role, as it ensures the candidate has the necessary technical expertise and knowledge.
  • Operational Engineering Experience: At least five years of operational engineering experience in mining and plant environments is required for this role.
  • Management Experience: At least two years of management experience with GCC in a plant area is preferred.

  • Effective Change Initiatives and Process Optimization: The ability to drive change initiatives and optimize processes is crucial for this role.
  • Knowledgeable in Contractor Management and Electrical Workshop Operations: Knowledge of contractor management and electrical workshop operations is beneficial in managing electrical projects.
  • Commitment to SHERQ Standards and Professional Work Ethics: A commitment to SHERQ standards and professional work ethics is essential for this role.

Estimated Salary: Market related salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum.
