Key Requirements:

  • A relevant post-graduate degree with mathematical or statistical-oriented subjects is preferred.
  • A Business Science Degree/B.Com Degree or equivalent is required.
  • You should have 8+ years' experience in consumer credit (within a Credit Risk analytics environment) with demonstrated ability to implement solutions based on findings from analytical projects.
  • An understanding of the credit life cycle is crucial.
  • Revolving store card or credit card experience is advantageous.
  • You must be able to work efficiently under pressure and within structured and unstructured parameters.
  • Predictive Analytics experience with a highly numerate background is advantageous.
  • You must be able to monitor models and report back to the board.
  • Assisting in growing the team with relevant support, training programs, and being seen as a mentor is important.
  • A high attention to detail driving a need for 100% accuracy is essential.
  • A high level of integrity and confidentiality is necessary.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is required.
  • Experience in SAS (base and/or Enterprise Guide and/or SAS Viya) is extremely advantageous SAS Sequel/SAS Python.

Job Responsibilities:

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team in achieving a balanced credit portfolio by accurately forecasting expected results.
  • Develop and implement champion/challenger customer strategies that deliver performance in line with Board expectations.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and ensure book performance meets pre-defined KPIs by proactively proposing changes.
  • Investigate data integrity issues, test assumptions, and validate analytical results, ensuring accuracy of findings.
  • Undertake analysis to determine the impact of strategy changes to areas of application and account management strategies.
  • Present ideas via reports and presentations, outlining findings and making recommendations for improvements to senior stakeholders.
  • Forecasting and monitoring implemented strategies using statistical techniques.
  • Project manage the implementation of strategy changes into live systems.
  • Credit professional with experience in IFRS9, credit strategy rules, risk registers.
