**Quality Assurance & New Product Development Officer**

**Purpose of the role**:
In close liaison with the Quality Manager and the Quality team translate the Qualiity policies and procedures into Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs), as part of a systematic & systems-based approach that serve 1. the assurance of quality within a coherent system, 2. the mitigation of quality risk, and 3. (in close liaison with Sales & Marketing) the development and refinement of products and their Quality in relation to customer, production and technical quality requirements.

To work closely with Quality Control in the translation of quality control feedback and recommendations & translate, within an appropriate consultative approach, into quality solutions, not least testing solutions operationally until desired remedy &/or value add is achieved.

To develop and constantly refine (in conjunction with HR) the Quality and related training modules and ensure QA, QC & Technical participation in the presentation and follow-through of quality related training.

**1. Quality Assurance System(s) & SOPs Operational Effectiveness**

Assist the Quality Manager, in close cooperation with the Quality team, in the development and refinement of the QA approach, P&P and their translation into SOPs and systems, ensuring QA, Mitigation, Developments, while informing controls as an integral part of the Quality overall management - and control system.

**2. Quality Assurance Operational Programme (incl. Plans) Implementation Integrity**:
In close liaison with colleagues and manager develop and continuously refine the QA remedial/ improvement implementation programme ensuring dynamic adjustment to production and integrated value chain requirements and effective follow-through to add optimal value at quality & customer satisfaction/ branding outcomes level. Ensure effective systems & programme integration to progressively build systems-based QA across SHEQ requirements.

**3. Quality Assurance Specialised Quality Test & Analyses Services**

Continuously monitor and analyse the efficacy of QC as well as QA, and subsequent need for more thorough testing methodology, informing quality at a more specific and differentiated micro-biological and physical properties level, allowing also adjustments at product spec, recipe's, ingredients spec, processes alignment, etc. as fed back to QA and Product Development. Maintain up - datedness of testing and control methodology through research and comparative evaluation.

**4. SHEQ Audits Systems/Services (serving Integrated Audits & Inspections Approach, Statutory/ Regulatory Compliance & Certification)**

In close cooperation with the SHEQ team, the Manager and Regulatory & Statutory Institutional inputs, translates the SHEQ requirements into a comprehensive and cost/value effective Quality Auditing approach with complementary components enabling the evaluation of the QA system and its compliance in the value chain; informing remedial programmes.

**5. SHEQ Training Modules & Services**

Within agreed parameters of training & development needs and in close liaison with colleagues, develop and conduct modular training and coaching on critical aspects of SHEQ. Refine such T&D approaches through systems feedback on quality issues, as well as the dynamic change requirements within a developing bakery business.

**6. Quality Assurance Information & Reporting System (Component of SHEQ system)**

In close alignment and cooperation with SHEQ team, the Manager as well as other interdependent parties (e.g. production), inform and shape the QA aspects of the SHEQ information system ensuring that progressively all data is processed into just-in-time information enabling monitoring, analysis, evaluation, reporting and ultimately better decision making on quality matters.

**7. Product Developments & Refinements Effectiveness**

Liaise closely with production and sales/marketing in the identification of product developments, changes and refinements, not least also informed by the various information inputs regarding products effectiveness from various perspectives, with an emphasis on market effectiveness. Develop the operational capacity for new product operational testing and integrate with other involved functions.

**8. SHE Programme & Related Services Effectiveness (incl. physical desaster management planning)**

Develop the Safety, Health & Environment approach in close liaison with QC and value chain participants into a coherent system of requirements and SHEQ representative monitoring. Integrate this approach into operational requirements and ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are consistently met. make SHE inputs into the disaster recovery plan and manage the SHE component proactively.
