Fitter/turner

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Machine Fitting and Turning**:Perform precision fitting and turning operations to manufacture, assemble, and finish machine parts and components.

**Maintenance and Repairs**:Conduct regular maintenance, servicing, and repairs of machinery and mechanical equipment. Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.

**Quality Assurance**:Ensure that all parts and machinery meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and tests on machined parts for precision and accuracy.

**Machine Set-Up and Calibration**:Set up machines and equipment for operation, ensuring calibration and alignment. Adjust machine settings for optimal performance.

**Technical Support**:Provide technical support to the operations team, assisting with machine setup, troubleshooting, and optimization. Collaborate with other technical staff to improve machine efficiency and resolve operational issues.

**Safety Compliance**:Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents in a timely manner.

**Documentation and Record Keeping**:Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and machine adjustments. Document and report on parts used and work performed.

**Continuous Improvement**:Continuously seek ways to improve processes, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency. Stay updated with the latest industry practices and technological advancements.

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate or diploma in mechanical engineering, fitting and turning, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Fitter/Turner, preferably in the PET blow moulding industry or similar.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using various machine tools and measuring instruments.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edenvale, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Certificate (preferred)
