**ECD MENTOR**

**Fixed Term Contract until 30.06.2025**

**R15 000 to R17 000.00 total cost to company per month**

**Job Purpose**:
This role will provide Early Childhood Development support, guidance and feedback to the Teachers and Fieldworkers who are part of the VPUU ECD programme.

**Key Performance Areas**:

- Plan and conduct mentoring on site primarily in informal settlements in Cape Town (center based as well as outreach/ out of center based programmes)
- Ensure all VPUU ECD sites are implementing the learning programme accordingly
- Support the supervisors in ensuring appropriate classroom layout or Emthonjeni set up with health and safety standards are maintained
- Develop the centres and outreach programme towards best practice including making demonstrations
- Facilitate training of practitioners, supervisors, fieldworkers and interns
- Reporting and administration
- Guide and oversee practitioner evaluations, the learner observations process, child development progress report process and inventory check process
- Support the Supervisors with oversite such as inventory list preparation, data collection, analysis of data
- Observe and guide interns in the designated centres and conduct quarterly mentoring sessions with interns

**Requirements**:

- A Diploma in Education or Early Childhood Development Sector (Minimum NQF level 5)
- At least 5 years of proven work experience in the field of Early Childhood Development Programmes
- At least 5 years’ experience within an ECD centre or ECD support work field
- Grade R Knowledge would be an added benefit
- Effective leadership, organizational and time management skills
- Initiative, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Possesses a strong excitement and passion for working with children and their Practitioners
- Effective oral/written communication skills in at least 2 of the following languages: English, isiXhosa, Afrikaans
- Criminal check Clearance on the Child Protection Register
- Valid Code EB drivers’ licence
- Experience in facilitating training

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R17,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- of Early Childhood Development Programmes: 5 years (preferred)
- working in an ECD centre or ECD support work field: 5 years (preferred)
