**Mission/ Core purpose of the Job**
To take ownership for the M2M/IoT services. To direct the overall formulation of the integration of the Technology CoE ICT platforms into underlaying technology areas (MNS, Mobile, etc.) in support of multi services solutions.

Responsible for the full lifecycle of M2M/IOT platform implementations, contributing towards building and driving a cohesive, centralised IOT architecture and implementing end-to-end solutions that solve real business problems and define the platform requirements for M2M/IOT for the future within the Technology CoE B2B for MTN Group markets.

Accountable to develop long term vision and connectivity architecture and financial models and scenarios for the future converged network. Responsible for managing the compilation of medium term integrated technical master plans.

- Translate the business strategy and strategic intent into clear deliverables for ICT Services in the IoT area.
- Drive the strategy, design, documentation and business case of the Technology Infrastructure and Solution Architecture strategy for Technology CoE
- Ensure effective monitoring mechanisms to track the implementation of strategy
- Develop the long-term vision and connectivity architecture and financial model and scenarios for the Technology ICT Services
- Initiate required technology changes to ensure alignment with the strategic direction of the company
- Interpret strategic plan and formulate strategic deliverables
- Manage Implementation and deployment of M2M/IOT technology solutions across OPCOs.
- Management of the Connectivity Management Platform, which includes, customer onboarding, order, SIM Management (tariff, lifecycle), charging & billing, business automation rules, comprehensive self-service portal & integration through APIs.
- Work closely with Enterprise Business Unit (EBU) & Product Development to understand business needs and consult on different M2M/IOT solution platforms.
- Work in cross functional teams to architect M2M/IOT solutions, translating business requirements into architecture specifications and models, solution design, and building a business case to justify the ROI.
- Build M2M/IOT solution prototypes, lead pilot studies, identify risks and challenges and plan to mitigate these.
- Drive the development of M2M/IOT components and build-up of ecosystem.
- Work closely with internal teams in SA and OPCO teams to evaluate and recommend improvements on the M2M/IOT platform in terms of capabilities, availability, and performance.
- Participate in negotiating contracts, working alongside legal and procurement departments to ensure that service-level agreement requirements are met.
- Keep abreast of M2M/IOT architecture current and future trends and innovations and if required partner with leading edge vendors/service providers to ensure a best-in-class offering.
- Work collaboratively with a global team to create and execute research into the feasibility of emerging M2M/IOT trends, assess their applicability for the MTN in meeting product development goals, and recommend the introduction of viable solutions and standards that meet the business needs and drive improvements.
- Act in an advisory capacity to management on M2M/IOT architecture.
- Consistently evaluate the viability of M2M/IOT requirements and feasibility within MTN technology as well as mitigate and highlight potential risks of the associated technologies.
- Manage the costs of the Platform for long term sustainability.

**Planning and Delivery**
- Ownership of the broader Technical architecture addressing all platform areas, dependencies and integration to internal and external providers
- Determine the impact of best technology solutions against constraints (time, budget, etc) of the client in order to create win-win outcome for all stakeholders.
- Oversee the product integration management process by defining an end-to-end network architecture to support converged approach.
- Oversee the Development of innovative network solutions with a strong focus on converged products that differentiate MTN in the market.
- Provide high level feedback to requestor in the form of consolidated solution architecture documents, costing and time lines.
- Ensure the right technological trends are incorporated into infrastructure planning to build a future proof network
- Develop and grow long term relationships with key corporate customers, vendors, MTN Business stakeholders as well as the Digital team
