Fleet Planner

**Introduction**

We are an international Cross-Border logistics (Road Freight) company searching for a Fleet Planner to join our dynamic team. The position is based in Isando Gauteng.

**Job Purpose**

Allocate proactively the fleet daily at the highest yield possible. Keep daily contacts with customers to characterize their needs and provide solutions that will match the requirements and regulations.

**Job Function**

**Fleet Management**
- Monitor and manage truck-trailer combinations daily.
- Review and address queries regarding unallocated trips.
- Ensure item master databases are up-to-date and resolve data issues.
- Coordinate planned trips with fleet availability in collaboration with operations and the workshop.

Planning and Customer Engagement
- Maintain daily contact with customers to understand their transport needs.
- Propose transport solutions based on WHC/Zalawi capabilities and customer challenges.
- Acknowledge bookings in TMS and ensure essential data is recorded.
- Quote customers based on actual trip costs and market trends while considering company interests.
- Handover booking and loading orders to operations with complete information, including cargo and specific requirements.
- Handle customer inquiries for booked trips without available fleet.
- Develop and share daily loading plans, adjusting priorities as per yield management policy.
- Provide daily fleet allocation updates and selling rates to management.
- Actively participate in defining and developing the customer portfolio, including load types and loading locations.
- Timely follow, control, and validate confirmed online bank payment requisitions.
- Ensure clients comprehend and agree to rates, service terms, and all included conditions.
- Ensure accurate truck tracking information is consistently shared by operations with customers.
- Stay informed about international laws, local regulations, and security issues affecting fleet corridors.

**Performance Monitoring and Reporting**
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for fleet operations, including on-time delivery rate, vehicle utilization, standing time etc.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to monitor overall fleet performance for various clients and loads etc.
- Guide operations in resolving execution and invoicing issues.
- Analyze trip profitability and consolidate rate reviews by customer and trade.
- Exchange essential information daily with dispatch, operations, workshop, forwarders, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with AGL Logistics to manage specific requests, such as warehousing and clearing.

**Continuous Improvements**
- Identify and investigate anomalies in trip performance.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop, Define and Implement processes and sub-processes to improve on the performance and optimization of the fleet.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.

**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Freight Forwarding / Logistics qualifications preferred
- Experience with Cross-Border transportation essential
- Advanced computer skills including excel and / or Power BI
- 5 to 7 Years’ experience within the industry
