**Signal Hill Products is looking for a Manufacturing Excellence Specialist (MES)**

**Position/Title: Manufacturing Excellence Specialist (MES)**
**Reports Too: GM Supply**
**Function Admin**
**Area South Africa**
**Number of Reports 0**

**Overall Responsibility**:
The MES is overall accountable for the development, implementation and sustainability of the Manufacturing Excellence programme, whilst driving a culture of continuous improvement. The outputs of these principles are to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, improve quality and build capacity within the production teams.

**Focus Area 1: Assist in developing and continually improving the Manufacturing Excellence (ME) program for SHP**
Codify the program
Positively contribute to a team to develop and improve the ME program

**Focus Area 2 : Facilitate the understanding of the ME program with the Plant leadership teams & the use of the ME tools**
Train & coach pillars of the program
Promote leadership team buy-in to the program
Identify areas where better understanding & program support is required and close the gap with the General Managers & Head of Departments
Take part in on job coaching and promote leadership team members to do the same

**Focus area 3: Ensure Plant leadership team develops an annual ME roll out plan aligned to SHP overall roll out plan**
Document the annual roll out plan (plan to be achievable)
Drive the appointment of ME pillar champions at each plant
ME progress report done monthly against the plan

**Focus area 4 : Drive the ME maturity progress via monthly Pillar assessments**
Facilitate realistic monthly self-assessments of each pillar in the plants
Plot maturity vs OEE/FE

**Focus area 5: Together with HR/L&D and Plant leadership team support the L&D/Training process**
Assist with setting annual training requirements - inclusion of ME training
Assist with roll out monthly training plan at plant level

**Focus area 6: Assist HR/L&D and Plant leadership with the roll out of the Competency acquisition process**
Assist with the facilitation of the progress
Identify ME gaps and ensure gap closure

**Focus area 7: Health and Safety**
Comply to all SHP Safety Policies
Comply to OHS Act requirements

**Requirements of the Role**
Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science or other relevant qualification
Minimum of 5 Years’ experience in FMCG
Minimum of 5 Years’ experience in manufacturing excellence

**Preferred Skills/Competencies**
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work with all levels of the business
Ability to influence others in a positive way
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
