Retail Shop Assistant

India Ink requires a Retail Shop Assistant to join their team based in the Paarl, Western Cape. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the store including but not limited to sales, point of sale, merchandising, customer service, receiving and stock movement.
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 1 - 2 years retail experience
- Bilingual - English & Afrikaans
- Qualification in Sales or Design
- Sales Experience
- Exceed customer expectations in all aspects of service.
- Educate and inform customers on the products and handling with passion and in-depth knowledge.
- Uphold our visual merchandising standards to optimise sales.
- Be aware of daily sales budgets and actively upsell to increase customer transaction spend.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
- Own and manage individual tills, including counting floats and performing end-of-shift till procedures.
- Transact all purchases - receive and process all payments such as cash, cards and EFT’s
- Check labels and pricing are correct.
- Report any price discrepancies.
- Manage restocking of merchandise to ensure maximum sales.
- Assist with stock replenishment - unloading delivery vehicle and packing stock in storeroom or shop.
- Report low stock levels, out of stock lines and damaged stock.
- Assist with general stocktaking.
- Responsible for opening and closing of store in a secure manner.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R70,00 - R100,00 per hour

Expected hours: 49 per week
