Cad Technician

Product is at the heart of everything we do and we’re looking for an experienced, passionate and driven individual to join the Laura James Product Team. This data-enabled creative team will control the style and development of product to ensure our customers always have the right product, whilst achieving gross margins.

Job Title: CAD Technician

Reports to: Product Designer

Role objective: Produce clear, concise and accurate technical drawings to facilitate product development.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of furniture products using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Ensure that all models are accurate in terms of dimensions, materials, and finishes.
- Collaborate with the design and product development teams to translate design concepts into 3D models
- Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD software and techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized digital library of product models and assets.
- Keep up to date with current trends within the industry to inform new ideas for ranges.
- Assist with procuring images and copy for all new products to facilitate speedy uploading of products to the online shops.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a CAD Designer or similar role in the furniture or interior design industry
- Proficiency in CAD software (SketchUp, 3ds Max, Rhino, SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc.)
- Strong understanding of furniture design principles and construction techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills
- Portfolio demonstrating strong CAD skills and a keen eye for design
- Positively represents the business at all times
- Must have energy, enthusiasm, drive and a “can do” attitude
- A keen eye for detail and creativity to deliver unique designs.
- Previous experience as a designer and ideally with furniture product knowledge.
- Must have a real flair for products and an affinity for the LJ brand.
