Supervise the Quality and Laboratory departments.
- Ensure that all tests are conducted in accordance with Quality Standards and Customer specific requirements.
- Monitor and control measurement systems and processes relating to the Laboratory.
- Monitor and control Quality Systems and Processes to achieve Quality Standards and meet customer specific requirements (CSRs).

**The Person**:

- National Diploma Quality Management or Engineering related qualification.
- Trained Auditor ISO 9001;2015; IATF 16949:2016 & VDA 6.3:2016.
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role within an Automotive/Manufacturing environment.

**Competencies**:

- Demonstrate an understanding of ISO/IATF and OEM Standards.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Problem Solving Techniques.
- MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook).

**The Job**:
Quality Management:

- Conduct Quality investigations.
- Maintain IATF 16949:2016 Certification.
- Maintain the Quality Assurance system.

Audits:

- Conduct internal 1st party process audits (VDA 6.3:2016), System Audits (IATF), supplier audits,product/dock audits.

Supply Quality Assurance (SQA):

- Supplier audits.
- Approve all PSW/PPAP/ISIR for new projects / products / items.

Quality Control:

- Investigate all Quality non-conformances and track corrective actions.
- Make decisions on quarantined products (Pass, Reject or Rework).
- Manage and maintain the Quality Management System ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements contained in IATF 16949:2016 and VDA 6.3.
- Achieve Quality Assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identify and resolve problems; complete audits; determine system improvements and implement change.
- Support the Quality Production Inspectors to make product related decisions as to the disposition of quarantined products (Pass, Reject or Rework).
- Review, update and approve Flow Charts, Control Plans and FMEAs.
- Facilitate Measurement System Analysis and Capability Studies on all measuring equipment (CPK, CMK).
- Maintain and improve product quality.
- Compile monthly Management Quality reports.
- Compile weekly yields reports.
- Approve COCs.

Lab Project work:

- Testing matrix
- Testing costs
- Timing plan
- External testing required for projects
- Testing actual samples
- Reporting results
- Investigative studies on samples that are problematic during projects
- Ensure all external yearly testing is conducted where applicable

Lab Testing Control:

- Ensure all instrumentation in laboratory is calibrated before the due date.
- Make sure safe work procedures are completed yearly.
- Ensure all routine and non-routine testing is conducted.
- Prepare for all audits being conducted.
- Continuous review and update of Skills Matrix and Test Methods for laboratory.
- Ensure turnaround time for results is met.
- Control all external testing.
- Develop and implement new testing.

Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP):

- Review Quality Risks of APQP activities.
- Ensure compliance to process and customer specifications.
- Complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for all customers.
- Provide input to the Contract Review Process.

Customer Relations (External and Internal):

- Interact with internal and external customers regarding quality issues.
- Investigate internal production, project and customer laboratory test failures.
