**Position: Finance Clerk**

**Location: Port Shepstone**

**Office hours: 07:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 7:00 to 12:30 on Friday.**

**Job purpose**

The Finance Clerk is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the finance department by providing administrative and clerical support. This role is critical in helping the organization maintain accurate financial records and make informed financial decisions.

**Responsibilities**

**Debtors**
- Reconcile debtors’ statements (Local and International) to AR invoices and incoming payments by the first week of every month.
- Follow up on debtor queries and resolve timeously.
- Prepare a schedule for remittances gathered and the expected date of payment.
- Invoice salary costs and expense costs of employees.

**Creditors**
- Reconcile creditors’ statements (Local) to AP invoices and outgoing payments by the second week of every month.
- Reconcile creditors’ statements (International) to AP invoices and outgoing payments by the 3rd of every month.
- Ensure that AP invoices are for goods actually received by company.
- Enquire with stores and procurement for any discrepancies found in AP invoicing.
- Prepare a creditors payments schedule by the second week of every month and submit to management for payment with supporting documentation.

**Bank processing**
- Request information for all payments paid via the 2 current bank accounts and process to correct accounts on the accounting system (exclude salary related payments).
- Review schedule of remittances for debtor payments and compare to incoming payments on the 2 current bank accounts and process to correct account on the accounting system.
- On the 20th of each month, request all credit card statements with accompanying paperwork (Slips, invoices, etc) and verify nature of usage and process to correct account.

**Sales Back Orders**

**Education**
- National Diploma in Accounting or Finance (NQF 6).
- Sound knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Knowledge of applicable legislative and regulatory framework

**Experience**
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in the Finance and Accounting field

**Skills**
- Proficiency with accounting software programs and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good financial system and business administration understanding.
- Time management and organizational skills
- Good communications skills
- Attention to details
- Able to maintain confidentiality

**Salary**
- Cost to Company: R 15 000 during the 3 months’ probation period

R 20 000 post the 3 months’ probation

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
