Our client specialises in the supply and maintenance of bulk material handling Machinery for packaging, palletising, material handling, and material flow needs.
- **Position Overview**:_
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
- **Responsibilities**:_
- **Installation and Maintenance**:_
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance.
- Test electrical systems and equipment using appropriate tools and equipment to ensure they meet operational requirements.
- **Troubleshooting and Repair**:_
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical components, such as wiring, switches, circuit breakers, and motors.
- Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex electrical issues and ensure mínimal downtime.
- **Electrical System Upgrades and Modifications**:_
- Assist in planning and implementing electrical system upgrades, expansions, or modifications to meet changing organizational needs.
- Follow electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure accurate installations and modifications.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including engineers and contractors, to ensure successful project completion.
- **Compliance and Documentation**:_
- Adhere to electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards while performing all tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and modifications performed.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in electrical systems.
- **Safety and Risk Management**:_
- Identify and mitigate electrical hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Implement and promote safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of electrical materials and equipment.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel and participate in safety training programs.
- **Qualifications and Skills**:_
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized electrical technician or electrician program is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with electrical testing and measurement equipment.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot electrical issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform electrical installations and repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle.
- English and Afrikaans fluent.
- A valid electrical technician or electrician license is a plus.
