- Join us at our Processing Operations based in Rustenburg as a Livelihoods Specialist where you will be responsible for the on-the-ground management of the implementation of Social and Economic Development (SED) and Livelihoods development related activities at the site. This would include infrastructure development, enterprise development, local recruitment, SED/project coordination, training and capacity building.

**Job Description
- Safety, Health & Environment**
- Act as a safety leader to reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health is paramount
- Identify specific risks within working area and adhere to discipline-specific plans/system to avoid these risks
- Embed critical controls into daily work practices to Implement Safety & Health systems within work area.

**Performance & Delivery**

**Planning**
- Oversee the development of the site Livelihood Strategy
- Input into the site SED Strategy including local stakeholder in the design and subsequent implementation and monitoring of SED projects
- Ensure alignment of the SED strategy development and implementation to the SED element of the AA Social Way
- Identify co-funding opportunities for projects with significant job potential and engage and help manage the relationships with co-funding organisations
- Support the BU in the monitoring and reporting of Livelihoods projects to stakeholders
- Coordinate the alignment of the site SED strategy with the local IDP and SLP

Implementation
- Oversee the implementation of the site Livelihood Strategy and its alignment with the overall SED strategy
- Oversee the implementation of job focused projects
- Support to the contractor local employment

Communication
- Represent the site in engagements on development planning and employment with regional government, municipalities, and other relevant forums.

**Feedback**

**Monitoring and Evaluation**
- Responsibility for tracking the SED strategies (and other development work including but not limited to Zimele) contribution to the Sustainable Mining Plan of the site, report to the site SED Section Manager and BU team progress against the goal and specifically highlight when projected jobs do not meet the goal or deviate from expected
- Manage site reporting on the SED elements of the Sustainable Mining Plan

**Sustainability & Social**
- Support delivery of the relevant BU and Group sustainability initiatives and activities
- Input into AAP Business Unit-level cross-functional integration on sustainability
- Contribute to building relationships with key stakeholders relevant to Corporate Affairs at both Operational and Business Unit level, ensuring engagements are consistent with Business Unit and Group sustainability initiatives and standards

**People & Teams**
- Actively engage as a team member in all team processes

**Compliance**
- Ensure compliance of the discipline with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements
- Ensure compliance of the discipline with Anglo American compliance requirements
- Adhere to compliance and governance within the team
- Qualifications
- Degree in Development Economic/Social Sciences or equivalent
- Qualification in Integrated Social Impact Assessments - advantageous
- Business Management qualifications - advantageous
- Qualification in Project Management/sufficient Project Management experience - essential
- Anglo Safety Leadership Programme - added advantage

**Experience required**:

- At least 5 years’ development management experience of which at least two should be in a mining environment
- 5 - 8 years of experience in the following:

- Project Management environment
- Financial Management
- Project / Business Analysis
- General management experience
