Clinical Facilitator

**Main Purpose of Job**

To plan and facilitate identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of all nursing staff.

**Key responsibility areas**
- Develop the competence of all nursing staff
- Identify training needs to guide the development of appropriate clinical training interventions
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development

**Required Education**
- ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree/Diploma in General Nursing
- DESIRE EDUCATION: Nursing Education Diploma unit specific certificate or diploma where appropriate (e.g. Emergency Operating Theatre/Critical care unit)

**Required Experience**
- ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree/Diploma in General nursing
- DESIRED EDUCATION: 1-2 years' experience as peer mentor, 1-2 years experience as workplace assessor.

- Facilitation skills
- Assessment skills
- Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
- Clinical risk management
- Nursing processes and procedures
- Computer literate (Microsoft)
- Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies
- Relevant nursing legislation
