**Job Specifications**:
We are in need of a Specialist in Oncology within the Mpumalanga Department of Health.
- Interview, investigate, diagnose, and oversee treatment of patients.
- Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care.
- Supervision of junior doctors.
- Willing to perform commuted overtime rendering of after hour duties to provide continuous uninterrupted care of patients.
- Attendance of relevant administrative meetings like mortality and morbidity meetings, patient safety incidents etc.
- Completion of medico legal documents.
- Participation in academic program in the hospital and all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research.
- Ensure proper and accurate record keeping as legally and ethically required.
- Reporting to the head of the unit on service delivery issues, clinical audits, PSI, and where necessary develop quality improvement plans.
- Assist the HOC to monitor, implement and adhere to the compliance of the norms and standards for healthcare facilities.
- Preparing and writing reports.

**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:

- Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Oncology.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Oncology.
- Basic medical degree (MBCHB or equivalent). Current registration with the HPCSA.

**Experience**
- Grade 1: none after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Oncology.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 5-year appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist in Oncology after registration with the HPCSA as a medical specialist.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 10-years appropriate experience as a medical specialist after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Oncology.
