**Freight Checker (Grade II) - East London (Night Shift)**

**Working Hours**: 21:00 - 06:00 (Mon - Thu)

07:00 - 16:00 (Sat)

**Minimum Requirements**
- At least 2 years Supervisory experience in the Freight Industry.
- Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification
- Sound knowledge of loading and off-loading principles.
- Understanding safe workplace practices and requirements
- Complete understanding of the optimum usage of productivity principles
- Administration and organisational skills
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Sound knowledge of the Eastern Cape area
- Must be a team player and adapt to change easily
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (Proficient in English & Afrikaans)

**Function**:

- Ensure that all freight received is scanned into the branch and onto its deliver mode/vehicle
- Assist in overseeing the complete off -loading process
- Assist in ensuring correct/safe loading of local fleet
- Ensure completion of daily checklists on the forklifts at the beginning of their shift
- Ensure all cargo intact & report damages, overages, and shortages to sending location and local ops management.
- Ensure that agreed operational procedures are adhered to by all
- Take customer calls for collection, deliveries, and general queries
Assist in ensuring housekeeping of branch as per agreed standard
