Ensures formulation of established and new rations and premixes using our formulation software in accordance with nutritional values, customer requirements, new R&D information, and legal guidelines.
Formulates premixes and rations to maximize growth, reproduction, health and/or performance.
Translating research findings and practical experiences into the ruminant portfolio
Providing support and expertise in the area of ruminant nutrition to the marketing, technical and sales employees
Contributing to product development by introducing new nutritional concepts
Responsible for quality control, analysis and interpretation of trial data and preparations of final reports
Assists in managing and developing protocols, data and reports of all research and trials, as well as interactions with marketing to develop and leverage resulting data into sales.
Keeps track of new nutrition developments and innovations of applicable R&D groups and companies outside the group
Coordination and review of nutritional, quality and feed safety aspects and feed manufacturing implications of new and existing products with both internal and external groups
Supports the Ruminant team lead or marketing department in development of training, marketing, and sales materials for all related ruminant products.
Knowledge transfer and technical support to the sales and technical teams
Calculates and assesses the relative nutritional/technical values of various feeds, ingredients (feed/premix) for quality and technical services purposes.
Utilize specialist computer software to devise diets and compose reports and recommendations.
Advising sales and marketing with regards to complex but known nutritional problems
B.S.c Agric / animal science, Master degree preferable.
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Knowledge in feed nutrition, premix and additives
Market understanding
Experience with formulation software
Good oral and written communication skills
Good statistical and analytical skills
Willing to travel to different customers
Professional SACNASP registration
Between 3 - 5 Years
